Welcome to the 5th International Workshop on Nonhydrostatic Models.
The nonhydrostatic models and their application in the numerical weather
prediction and climate study have advanced rapidly during the last few
decades. This workshop is relevant to all aspects of nonhydrostatic models
ranging from Large Eddy Simulation models to nonhydrostatic global models,
including dynamical frames, physics schemes, data assimilation schemes
and regional climate models. The following topics are also welcome:
predictability and applications to mesoscale phenomena, such as tropical cyclones,
heavy precipitations, and shallow clouds. The future of high-performance
computing for the meteorological and climate research is one of our great concerns.

The 5th International Workshop Nonhydrostatic Models will be held at
Japan Meteorological Agency, Tokyo. The workshop will run from 9:30 a.m. Nov. 14, 2018
to 4:10 p.m. Nov. 16, 2018.
